Press Release
Hillside LTC Offers The Chance To Play Tennis For Free!
This is your chance to take part in the country's biggest and best
annual sporting offer - to play tennis for free!
Play Tennis 2004 is an initiative from the Lawn Tennis Association
(LTA) and the campaign offers everyone, especially beginners, the
opportunity to pick up a racket and play. As part of the campaign,
Hillside Lawn Tennis Club is throwing open its doors for free on
Saturday 12th June between 11am and 4pm.
It's open to anyone, no matter what age or ability, so why not
give it a try? (Young children should be accompanied by an adult.)
There will be all sorts of things to do on the day including:
- chances to play tennis;
- rackets available to borrow;
- tennis "taster" tuition sessions;
- practice against an automatic ball machine;
- the opportunity to measure the speed of your serve against
a radar speed detector;
- refreshments on sale - why not come for lunch;
- LTA give aways!
Rob Hemmings, Chairman of Hillside LTC, said: "We are delighted
to be a part of this great LTA initiative for the second year running
and hope that it attracts children and adults to try their hand
at tennis and perhaps become long-term members of our very friendly
club."
Hillside LTC is in the Recreation Ground, just off Liverpool Road,
Ainsdale. The entrance is almost opposite Sacred Heart Church. It
is a very friendly tennis club with 4 all-weather courts, floodlights
and various other facilities. New members of any age or standard
are always welcome - coaching can be arranged for groups or individuals.
Existing club members will be on hand to tell people all about the
club and for them to play against if they want.
